The Sound of Silence

Look at this beautiful site I've captured. My angels. Twins, even in their sleep. At the same time too! Oh, and a little picture of Mad trying to crawl. What a stubborn little tike!

One more....

I've been forgetting many things as of late. This is also why I'm making two posts in one day...because I forget to write things down. Well, when I'm pregnant, I do really forgetful things. For example: I've always emptied a dirty dishwasher or thrown something away that's not supposed to be there. I think I even put cereal in the fridge and milk in the pantry. Anywho, I'm not pregnant but have been doing really dumb things! In a two day period I forgot to buckle London in her car seat, got in the shower with my socks on, and walked in and out of a room five times because I couldn't remember why I was in there. When I forgot to buckle London, I was driving and totally in my own mind at the time. We were almost home and London says, "Mom, did you know that you forgot to buckle me?" I whipped around and she was turned all the way around in her seat waving at cars behind us. Yes, waving. Oh, the bad parenting list continues to grow. All these ridiculous things I've been doing did make me a little nervous, but at least I won't have another child to suffer from my stupidity, right?

Okay, Somehow I got most of them back.....

The links of blogs that I deleted, that is. Some people haven't invited me to their private blogs because ours is under Tyler's e-mail. I guess I should change that too. Besides that, I'm once again reminded that I've been neglecting my updates. It's not that I don't remember, it's that a part of me is just hoping and wishing that Ty is going to pick up the slack since HE'S the one who set up the blog.....wishful thinking. Oh...so wishful. Life at the Barnes' has been good. Madden is starting to crawl, backwards mainly, but he's rocking back and forth like a champ. London has been a big help to Mommy and is seriously quite the "towel folder." My mom made this darling skirt and put matching pom-poms she made onto a shirt and and barrettes. Totally cute, right?! I'm sure I have the funniest stories of things London's said, but I'm drawing a blank. Madden continues to be a Momma's boy and loves to give kisses. He's had pink eye, and has learned to shake his head "no" every time I come hither with the drops. Such a smarty. The other day I heard him crying during his nap. I walked in and to my horror, he was completely under the blanket with his head pinned down to the mattress. I hurried to pick him up and he was soaked. I mean sweaty and so wet that his hair was stuck to his head. This is how he looked. You can see my lipstick marks all over his face because I couldn't quit kissing him. He's just too dang cute! Madden and London continue to be best friends and she makes him laugh all of the time. It's great to have kids who love each other. I just hope it lasts....

Happy Easter!

Okay, I'm a day or two late but, whose counting? Ah, it was a delicious, relaxing and fun holiday! We basically stayed at home during conference. In between sessions I hid London's basket and told her the Easter Bunny had come. She was so excited. We got a video of me telling her and she was clearly flustered. What a funny child. We later went to my parents where everyone brings a basket filled with something for everyone. The baskets are then hidden and we get our goodies out of each one! We had a socks basket, candybar basket, gardening gloves, you name it! It was awesome! My mom, of course, had a delicious dinner of glazed ham, homemade rolls, twice baked potatoes, baked carrots, and onion green bean casserole. I'm not going to lie, I ate a tiny bit of dinner and gorged on desserts. I know, what was I thinking? I'll tell you what I was thinking, I made caramel blondies the day before and I knew I wanted some of those. Here's the recipe:

1 can evaporated milk

14 oz. pkg. caramels

1 pkg. yellow cake mix

1/2 c. chocolate chips

1/2 c. white chocolate chips

1/2 c. butterscotch chips.

Note: I added more evaporated milk instead of butter because, it really doesn't need the extra butter. If you feel like it needs a little butter, add 1/4 c. to batter. Believe me, mine was so delicious! Combine butter, cake mix, and 1/2 can evaporated milk. Combine chips with batter. Save some for middle layer (I just added more.) Spread half of the batter in the bottom of a 9 by 13 cake pan. Bake for 6-8 mins. Take out and let cool. On the stove combine caramel squares and 1/2 can evaporated milk until melted. Put chocolate chips over cake. Pour caramel over partly cooked blondies and chips. Dollop the rest of batter over the blondies. Cook another 18-20 mins. I had also made a bunny cake made out of a yogurt cake recipe with strawberries as a topping. So dang good! It's so easy, you just use two round cakes and cut out a half moon on each side. The cut outs are ears and the remaining piece is the bow tie! This is what it should look like unfrosted. I remembered that from Activity Days when I was 12! NO JOKE! I'm glad that we actually charged our camera battery before we left. I got a beautiful picture of my men.... no not Dean and Tyler.....Yes, this one. He's looking so big! Then I got one of my sleeping angel after all of the festivities. What a doll.
